Just before February Half term, the Dangour family made an incredible donation to the Boat Club. Part funding the purchase of the boys new coxed four. The Boat was named in memory of Mr Aboodi Dangour, grandfather to Artie and Jackson (Boys captain of boats 2022).

“On the day Mr Aboodi Dangour passed away, 50 members of Emanuel School Boat Club were taking part in a sponsored row from Windsor back to the boat house and Jacko and Artie were both part of that epic journey.  Mum and I thought a donation to the boat house would be a fitting way to honour Dad’s passing and at the same time make a useful contribution to rowing at Emanuel.  Rowing has been a huge part of the lives of Jacko and Artie and is one of the things that make Emanuel such a fantastic school.” Dr Dangour

“The School kindly suggested that we name the boat in Dad’s honour.  I think that Dad would be absolutely delighted to know that there was a boat named after him speeding back and forth along this stretch of the Thames – less than 2 miles from where we live.  This is another way in which his name will live on.” Dr Dangour

We are extremely grateful to the Dangour family for making this exceptional contribution.
