We have had a flurry of sports-related activity this term with swimming and football continuing apace.
We have been delighted to host four schools in the Emanuel pool this term – Falconbrook, Langford and Trinity St Mary’s primaries and Wandsworth secondary, St John Bosco College. We provided coaches and lifeguards for each session, and in several cases transport to and from swimming too.
Lisa Badau, Langford Primary, states ‘It has been wonderful to see the children growing in confidence each week and watch them participate in an activity that many have had little chance to try before. Under the fantastic guidance of such professional tuition, they have significantly improved each week. The swimming coaches have been so caring in their approach and have made the children, many of whom were very initially very nervous, feel safe and supported. I know the children have loved this experience and I believe that it has helped both their physical and mental wellbeing.’
Fulham Football Club Foundation (FFCF) continues to run pan-disability football sessions for adults and young people two evenings each week on our mini-astro. Our relationship with FFCF continues to thrive – Emanuel has quickly become one of FFCF’s most popular venues. We will continue to partner with FFCF next year and continue to look at new ways to support their aims to ‘build better lives through sport’.
