Sustained effort achieving excellent outcomes

Congratulations to the pupils and staff at Emanuel, who are celebrating excellent (I)GCSE results today, with 43% of all grades achieved A*/9/8, and 72% A*/A/9/8/7. Since 2013 the school’s A* percentage has doubled, and the A*/A percentage has increased by 20%.

These are exceptional results for our school, with the highest ever A*/9/8 and A*-B/9-5 scores.

  • Based on The Telegraph GCSE league tables 2019, Emanuel School is ranked within the top 100 of all independent schools nationally.
  • Emanuel is also within the top 50 co-educational schools nationally.
  • Emanuel’s 71.5% A/A* places the school in the top 100 for the second time in the last three years for GCSE outcomes.

These outcomes, at A Level and GCSE, across the last three years and especially in 2019, show significant growth in performance. We are delighted for the pupils and glad that their dedication has yielded such impressive results.

Year 11 pupils celebrate their results

In the sciences, humanities and arts students excelled; over 80% of all results in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Literature, History, Geography and Music were A*/A, and in Design Technology 80% of students were awarded 9/8.

2 pupils achieved top grades (all A*/9), a further 12 pupils achieved straight A*/9/8, and 31 pupils achieved all A*/A/9/8/7.

As well as achieving 7 9s, 1 8 and 2A*s, Lauren also won 2 gold medals at the Home Internationals Regatta last month!

These results reflect tremendous personal effort and application on the part of our pupils and their teachers. Year 11 2018-19 should be immensely proud of all that they have achieved, and the contribution they have made to Emanuel’s continued growth and success. They can now look forward with confidence to Sixth Form and the next exciting phase of their school careers.
