With your support last summer, we were able to deliver over 5000 meals to 1380 vulnerable families at seven of our partner schools. Both the families and our partner schools told us that this made such a difference during the last lockdown and we have received numerous requests for further help now. Families are struggling to cope more than ever – for many work is fragile, multiple children are trying to access online learning and the promised government support for Free School Meal children is facing challenges. Providing some respite with an easy to prepare meal-in-a-bag will help, at least a little, to alleviate stress and worry during these troubling times.

Our plan is to provide 180 families with one meal-in-a-bag per week from now through to half-term. Each bag will include a recipe card and all of the ingredients necessary for each family to make a tasty and nutritious meal for four. Partner schools will include Christ Church, Falconbrook, Goldfinch, Griffin, Sacred Heart, Chesterton plus others. In all cases, meals will be distributed to vulnerable families identified by each school.

With your help and the support of Sodexo, our school caterers, we aim to provide 720 meals per week to vulnerable families at our local partner schools, on a rotation, for the next four weeks. If primary schools remain closed after half-term, we will review these plans and look to extend our provision.

Our catering team will prepare the meals-in-a-bag and our staff will deliver them to the relevant schools for distribution to families.

It costs just £6 to provide a healthy and delicious meal for a family of four. If you are interested in supporting our meals scheme, please donate below.
