Silver Duke of Edinburgh Practice Expedition success in the sun!

From Friday the 9th to Sunday the 11th of May, a record sixty eight Year 10 students travelled down to Brockenhurst in the New Forest for three days of hiking, camping, cooking, bonding and, at times, coping with a little adversity. We were blessed with wall to wall sunshine, and apart from group 2, consisting of Lara, Elif, Matilda, Anna, Amelle, Hannah, Isabella, inexplicably taking ten hours to complete a fifteen kilometre walk, the ten groups all performed fantastically well despite the blisters, heat and ticks!

They can now all look forward to their final expedition in July when hopefully they will all pass, learn, build and test friendships, and create even more happy and occasionally miserable memories!

My thanks goes to Mr Chuter, Mr Woodhall and all of the students for making this such an enjoyable and harmonious adventure.

-Mr A Leadbetter, Teacher of Mathematics
