Transformative free places (bursaries)
From its foundation, Emanuel has benefited from financial support and benefaction. The excellent facilities enjoyed by the current pupils are a direct result of the generosity and support of previous pupils and their families. We have ambitious plans for the development of our educational and sporting facilities but we need your help.
Community and partnerships
We currently work with over 20 local primary schools with an average of 50% of pupils on Free School Meals, compared to a national average of 14%. The aim of our outreach is to improve these pupils’ educational experience and support social mobility in our local area. Through the Primary Ambitions programme, we also want to give our own students the chance to test their leadership skills and broaden their horizons by teaching an exciting educational programme to pupils in our partner schools. We rely on donations to support our outreach and would welcome your support.
We have a number of projects that fall outside of the annual school budget. Historically we have been able to offer more opportunities to our pupils and parents through the generous support of our alumni, current parents and friends of the school. Current projects we are raising money for are renovation of the chapel organ, establishment of a centre of excellence for rock and pop and improving technology in Music. There is also the opportunity to dedicate a seat in the Fiennes Theatre.

By donating tax effectively, the net cost to you will be reduced considerably and your gift can have even more impact. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Emanuel can reclaim the basic rate of tax you’ve already paid on your donation. This means that a £1 donation is worth £1.25 to the school. If you’re a higher rate taxpayer, you can also claim back the difference between higher rate and basic rate tax on the value of your donation. An illustration of the net cost and impact of giving is shown below:
The cost and impact of a gift of £20 per month to Emanuel
The cost of a fully funded place at Emanuel is £20,000 per annum or £450K to fund the place in perpetuity. Giving tax efficiently over a period of time can allow donors to build a charitable legacy that will continue to impact the school for generations to come.
