Gillian Ni Cheallaigh, former lecturer in French and Francophone Women’s Writing at King’s College London (and now a member of the Modern Foreign Languages department) visited the Junior Equality Club this week.

Pupils watched the women’s march on YouTube and thought about the slogans people carried. They discussed equality emblems and thought about how their own lives were affected by sexism.

Junior Equality Club has now moved to Wednesday lunch break at 1:45 in K3. Next week, pupils will focus on how the trend to support girls and women’s rights is affecting boys and men – should boys be allowed to wear skirts as part of the school uniform?
