It gave me great pleasure to announce the 1st XV Captains and 1st XV Vice-Captain respectively for the 2022 – 2023 season ahead at this year’s Rugby Awards Evening.
The newly appointed 1st XV Captain, Oliver is a fantastic role model to his peers and pupils across the whole school. He leads by example both on and off the field and will set a good example for other pupils to follow in the Autumn of 2022.
The appointed 1st XV Vice-Captain, Tom is well respected and admired by his peers and will be another superb role model for younger pupils. His vision, understanding and ability will be a real asset to Oliver in driving the 1st XV and Emanuel School Rugby forward from 2022.
I wish Oliver and Tom the very best in their new appointments and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with them and the other senior players in the new year.
I am sure both Oliver and Tom would echo my words in thanking Henry (1st XV Captain 2021) and Luke (1st XV Vice-Captain) for their commitment and dedication over the course of the year, leaving the ‘Blue & Gold Jersey’ in a better place.
