What a feast was served up in the refectory and buttery for lunch yesterday.

Srikanth, our new chef, ably helped by Richard and Curtis of course, produced a magnificent Indian lunch. There was a wonderful warm and fragrant chicken makhanlala, spicy kashmiri koftas, a wonderful paneer and vegetable korma with delicious lentil, mushroom and spinach dhal, onion bhajis, pickles, raita and mango chutney.

For dessert Srikanth gave us a traditional Southern Indian mangalorean kheer which was lentils and tapioca flavoured with cardamom, raisins and coconut – a real taste of the sub-continent.

The students and staff were full of praise for the lunch – “Awesome lunch”, “Fabulous lunch”, “Compliments to the chef! It was delicious”, “Amazing Indian lunch”, “A really nice uplifting treat on a wet November day” and with everyone clearing their plates I could see they had really enjoyed it.
