Last weekend, we welcomed our Boat Club alumni along with current rowers and their families to Henley Royal Regatta for a celebration of rowing.

On Saturday, we hosted Boat Club OEs through the decades for a drinks reception. OEs with an enduring love of the sport, first fostered at Emanuel, came together to share their stories and to hear about how rowing has progressed at Emanuel. Emanuel has a long and proud history of rowing prowess and rowers from some of our most successful teams ever were represented.

Director of Rowing, Tim Liversage, awarded rowing coach and Head of Year 8, Hannah Blaikie, with her Emanuel School Boat Club blazer in honour of her many and significant achievements in girls’ rowing over the last six years. The Emanuel School Boat Club blazer was also proudly worn by many other OEs and former Headmaster, Mark Hanley-Browne.

Sunday’s event for senior pupils and parents’ supporters was also well-attended and raised the hopes and aspirations of Boat Club members. Many alumni returned on the Sunday to join us too. With the large presence of the rowing community joining across the 2 days, the senior boys and girls rowers are fired up to return to Henley Women’s Regatta and the Royal Regatta Qualifiers next year.
