Congratulations to the Emanuel Upper Sixth of 2022. Their tremendous efforts have gained them excellent A Level results. We are immensely proud of the grit and resilience they have exhibited in emerging from the ‘no GCSE’ CAGs summer of 2020 to achieve such positive outcomes at A Level in what were, for them, their first set of public examinations ever.
An impressive 33.1% of all A Level grades achieved were A*. The A*/A grades showed a 15% increase upon our last set of public examination results, with a total of 70%. This great cohort has also achieved the highest ever proportion of A*/B grades at Emanuel, in all forms of assessment, with 93%.
Most pupils took the EPQ qualification and 3 A Levels. Of those who took four A Levels, seven pupils achieved 4 A*, two achieved 3A* and 1 A and three achieved 2A* and 2 A.
Of the pupils who took three A Levels, nine achieved 3A* and eleven achieved 2 A* and 1 A.
In total, fifty-six pupils, just under half, achieved all A* and A grades.
Mr Quayle, the head of sixth form, said, ‘We have been so impressed with the way in which our pupils have navigated their way through the past two challenging years. It is therefore incredibly pleasing to see that all their hard work has been rewarded with such a strong set of A level outcomes. Now that almost all pupils have settled their university or further education plans, there are a few with further steps to take and we will continue to do all that we can to advise and help them.’
The headmaster, Mr Milne, said ‘I am in awe of this cohort’s incredible ambition, focus and resolve. They have each sought to do their very best and it is a true delight to see such happy and positive young people, with clear and optimistic pathways, after such an uncertain time. These outcomes, outperforming all other previous years at A*-B, would also not be possible without the care and support of so many parents, friends and supporters, motivating and encouraging every sixth former. The superb teaching and support from staff at Emanuel – their absolute conviction and diligence across recent years – will also long be remembered and everyone is very appreciative indeed.’
