This week (7th-13th February 2022) marks Children’s Mental Health Week and this year the theme is ‘growing together’.

Pupils in the Lower School have been discussing how growth can take many different forms including physical and emotional growth and have been reflecting upon a time when they have grown to be able to do something they couldn’t when they were younger. Pupils have shown an appreciation that growth isn’t just about learning new skills but also about making changes to make us feel better.

The Mind Your 5 initiative, introduced in September, encouraged pupils to make small changes every day to improve their mental health. For example, including a ‘one minute mediation’ in their day or paying someone a compliment.  During assemblies, pupils have been creating support balloons displaying people in their life that support them and help them to grow.
