There are over 50 clubs and societies taking place at Emanuel throughout the course of the week. Some of our pupils share what they’ve been up to this term:
Art Club
We attend Art Club on Wednesdays during lunchtime. I like it because we can have fun and relax while also learning new skills. At the moment, we are looking at the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, and thinking about what we would do if we were to design a sculpture for it. (Edie, Year 8)
Animation Club
The Animation Club is interesting, fun and educational. We use software such as Adobe Character Animator (2D) and (but not limiting to) Maya (3D), which is an industry standard program. It runs on Wednesdays in CS2 at 1:05-1:40. (Isaac, Year 9)
“Animation is a great skill to pick up and is certainly worth every minute!” (Vasily, Year 7)
UKMC Junior Team Club
Students from Years 7, 8 and 9 have been training every Wednesday lunchtime since September for the UKMT Junior Team Challenge in March. The team practices are run by Ms Cojbasic, who has provided invaluable support and advice. We have been practicing all of the different rounds, such as cross numbers and relays, which have helped to improve our problem solving and mathematical skills. After coming second in the regional finals last year, we are hoping to be in the running to win this year’s event and get through to the national final. (Sam and Atitiya, Year 9)
