The catering and Spanish departments joined together to celebrate the Mexican Day of the Dead.
The catering team decorated the Refectory and Buttery with a colourful, and perhaps a little ghoulish, selection of posters, flags, and other Day of the Dead artefacts while the staff dressed in all black. The menu was a wonderful selection of Mexican treats including Picadillo, Tacos al Pastor, Spinach & Squash enchiladas and Mexican bean stuffed peppers. The dessert was a rich and scrumptious Pastel de Tres Leches which was a sweet Mexican style vanilla sponge soaked in three types of milk and topped with fresh dairy cream.
‘Fabulous Mexican food’ , ‘delicious Mexican lunch’ and ‘Fantastic Day of the Dead lunch’ were some of the comments from pupils and staff and I agree the chefs really produced a wonderful Mexican feast for everyone to enjoy.
