Each year, pupils in the Lower and Middle Schools support St Mark’s Church’s ‘Cheer’ campaign with bountiful Christmas donations.

Cheer is a leading ministry for the encouragement, healing and restoration of those who find themselves parenting alone and includes any person who has sole responsibility for the care of a child/children. Cheer is run by Lucinda whose own children were both at Emanuel some years ago. Form groups at Emanuel are tasked with sourcing personalised Christmas presents for single-parent families in the local area.

In ‘normal’ times, pupils and staff would deliver the Christmas packages to St Mark’s Church on Battersea Rise. Lucinda sorts and delivers the gifts to the families’ addresses. This year, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our friendly estates team delivered a full minibus to Lucinda’s own home, where she will sort the donations and dispatch them to the local families.

Thank you to every pupil and their family who has supported this cause. Your gifts never fail to bring some festive cheer and happiness to local families most in need.
