Our cricket programme is going from strength to strength this season.
The school is pleased to welcome three new professional coaches to the coaching team this summer whilst also retaining several existing staff members. Read on to get to know the full coaching team for 2025.
The new faces include ex South African test player Mr Vilas, who has played over 500 professional games internationally as well captaining several county and state teams. Read more about his skills and experience here.
Mr White mentioned: “We are very happy to welcome Mr Vilas to Emanuel school. He has already been working with our senior teams throughout the spring term, and I am sure they will be inspired to be coached by an international cricketer.”
Mr Clilverd and Mr Stamp are the other new additions to the team. Mr Cliverd has been a mainstay of the Cambridgeshire National counties side for several seasons and brings a strong playing background. He’s also worked at St Johns College and Culford school, making him a valuable educational addition. Mr Stamp joins up alongside his role with the successful Middlesex school’s programme and brings his wicketkeeping expertise to help raise the standards of the schools’ young keepers.
Mr London (Ex Middlesex professional and Director of Cricket at Richmond CC) has rejoined for the 2025 season after a couple of very good seasons already at Emanuel.
Mr White mentioned; “Mr London has been a great addition and has fitted in brilliantly to what we are trying to do. The other staff can learn from him, and the students love working with him. He explains the game so well and simplifies everything to every student at any stage of their development”.
Mr Davis joined Emanuel at the start of the academic year. He readily threw himself into the winter nets programme forming good coaching relationships with teams across all age groups. His passion for the game, and his own eagerness to get involved in sessions should encourage students of all ages to be involved in the National Summer Sport.
Miss Murphy has been at Emanuel for five years and has played a significant role in the development of the girls’ cricket programme, particularly in overseeing the growth and success of the senior team. The programme has gone from strength to strength, helping establish Emanuel as one of the leading schools for girls’ cricket in the area.
Mr White, the Director of Cricket says, “I feel extremely fortunate to be coaching alongside this team at Emanuel. We had identified what we wanted and with great support from the school have been able to lock in a superb team. I am confident this lineup is a match for any school in the area and look forward to our students being able to improve and grow, and more importantly enjoy their cricket journey as they go through the school. Also, I would like to go on record as thanking our Headmaster Mr Milne and the wider school for the investment in the school’s cricket programme.”
“I’m delighted with the coaching team we’ve put together in recent months, that enables us to offer high quality opportunities to so many of our pupils. The experience and expertise we hold within the team is second to none within the sector, and I’m extremely confident that any young cricketers committing to our training opportunities will have every opportunity to thrive.”
