Emanuel is marking election week with a series of events in the lead-up to the general election on Thursday 12th December.
Last week, Mr Bishop regaled a throng of sixth form students on ‘The Maths of Elections’, showcasing the strengths and pitfalls of the first past the post system. Find out more here.
Next week, the schedule is as follows:
Monday: lunchtime debate in the Hampden Hall (1.05pm to 1.50pm)
Tuesday: talk from Rod Cartwright on the Labour victory of 1997 in the library (4.00pm to 5.15pm)
Wednesday: pupil assemblies featuring pupil films and party political broadcasts
Thursday: online vote in school
Friday: results collated
Pupils and their families are being encouraged to get involved this week by establishing how politically aware they are, and discovering their own political beliefs. Take this test to find out where your political stance lies.
