The English Schools’ Swimming Association (ESSA) U13 girls national Water Polo finals were made up of the top six qualifying teams from across the country; Manchester Grammar, Bolton School, Bedford, Alleyn’s, Notting Hill & Ealing and Emanuel.

Hosted at Northampton school for boys, the competition was split into two pools of three teams. First and second placed teams from each pool progressed to the semi-finals whilst both third placed teams would then play off for fifth & sixth place.

Emanuel were drawn with Bolton and Notting Hill & Ealing in the pool stages.  In both games the team performed admirably, playing some brilliant counter attacking polo.  In both games we took the lead but some individual moments from the opposition eventually wrestled both results in the oppositions favour.  Whilst progress to the semi-finals was halted, the teams spirit remained and they finished the competition with a brilliant win against Bedford school to finish the competition in fifth place.

Well done to all the girls in their first year playing the sport competitively.
