The U13 girls Water Polo squad was one of four school teams to enter this regional tournament just before the Easter break.  Both 1st and 2nd place from this tournament would gain a place at the National finals, hosted in Northampton on 16th May.

The first game was against Old Palace.  After a nervy first few minutes we scored first and settled into our rhythm and finished up winning 6-3.  We stayed in the pool and played immediately afterwards against Colfes.  The opposition had some strong attackers but our resolute defence held firm, making some good saves and blocks.  We finished the first half with a one goal advantage but extended our lead in the second half with some decisive finishing.  The final score was 5-2.

Our final game was against an equally unbeaten Alleyn’s side.  The game played out in much the same fashion as our mixed team, cagey but entertaining.  Alleyn’s scored first with some brilliant build up play.  The girls fought well and kept themselves in the game but the counter attacking and fast swimming of the opposition stretched us too far and we could quite wrestled back the result.  Final score, Alleyn’s winners 3-2.  The loss placed the girls second overall and therefore gained qualification to the National tournament.  Well done to all who played!
