On Monday 3 June pupils, parents and staff gathered to celebrate the work of our GCSE Art students.
At least 200 guests came to see the 47 individual GCSE exhibitions. The work on display was very varied ranging from delicate dry-point and lino prints, short films and sculptural clothes to ambitious sculptures as well as closely observed paintings.
The private view gives us a wonderful opportunity to admire our pupils hard work over the two year course, but also gives students a chance to reflect on and discuss their work with each other. It was a delightful evening during which many admiring comments were made about the work on display. My thanks go to the Art department for their hard work teaching and installing the show and to Phyllis Street and the catering team for serving us delicious canapes and drinks.
