The range of enrichment activities continues to grow for MFL at Emanuel.
For German, pupils now have access to German-speaking football lessons, a breakfast club, debating, outings to the cinema and this week, we had our first visit from the Onatti theatre company to the school. Year 9 and 10 pupils watched a production of the play ‘Horoskop’ in German.
Ned Wright, a year 10 Germanist, commented: “I really liked it. I was able to understand it well. It was thrilling’. This certainly echoes what other pupils had to say and Mr Kidd, Head of MFL, was impressed by the way pupils engaged with the play and he noted: “This was a real confidence boost for our pupils as they realised that they have the knowledge and skills to access something as challenging as watching a play in a foreign language. Their participation and understanding were impressive!’.
We are looking forward to this becoming a regular feature in our enrichment programme.
