Sunday 28 November was a very exciting day for the Music Department as we took the pupils to the famous Half Moon pub in Putney for our first external Rock and Pop gig.
Named after its location, Half Moon Lane, it was once a popular venue for live music, hosting world-famous acts including U2, Van Morrison, Frank Sinatra and David Bowie. Our three school rock bands performed three songs each as the packed crowd cheered and clapped each performance. Our three soloists, Livi, Leili and Katy (all Y13) were joined by the Senior Strings, and Mariela (Y13) also sang a piece accompanying herself on the ukulele.
The bands are looking forward to their next gig at Omera in London Bridge next term!
