On Wednesday 8th June, 142 Year Eight pupils visited Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

They very much enjoyed a guided tour of the castle and an exploration of the wonderful, extensive grounds and exhibits. We were joined by Year Six pupils from Westbridge Academy. Several members of the public complimented the children on their excellent behaviour.

Some pupil feedback:

“I loved all of it- I thought the guided tour of the castle was really interesting, and I thought the water maze was especially fun.” Oliver

“The castle itself was very interesting with many cool historical figures being involved, and the amazing and expensive ‘renovation’ of Sir William Waldorf Astor was very cool; also the surrounding grounds were pretty and nice to walk through.” Devin

“I really liked the tour of the castle as it was very interesting with the mix between the old bits and the new parts.” Macsen

“The walk around the lake was very beautiful and the flowers were nice. The castle itself was also extremely interesting because of what we already know about the Boleyn family.” Violet

“I loved seeing what they wore as well as the stories that came with specific features of the castle, both romantic and tragic ones.” Rosa
