Before half term, Hill form pupils enjoyed an exciting overnight residential trip with The Bushcraft Company in Cuffley, Hertfordshire.
Diego spoke about his experience of the trip:
“When we arrived, we were introduced to our helpers who were both very kind. They split us into two groups and then we started exploring the camp. Our first activity was shelter building and we could only use sticks and leaves from around the camp to make our shelter. This was very fun and our shelter turned out beautifully. Next, we went to our camp called Justice Hill, settled into our tents and ate a hotdog. After settling in, we went climbing and bouldering- the climbing wall was very high! After climbing we went back to our groups for team problem solving which tested our communication skills. Finally, we ate dinner at their lovely refectory. Before going to sleep (inside big yurts!) we sang songs and ate smores around the campfire. The next day, we started by having a delicious cooked breakfast. After that we did a nightline activity. This was an obstacle course that we navigated while being blindfolded. Then, we completed a pioneering activity where we built a bridge from scratch in 40 minutes using only planks of wood and some rope. That was the last activity we had before sadly having to leave. I thought it was a great action packed trip.”
