We are delighted to welcome Jack Clark to the role of Development Director, starting on Friday 1st February.
Jack joins us from the educational charity United World Schools (UWS) where he was Partnerships Director for four years. Jack’s main role at UWS was to recruit and support the charity’s school and corporate partnerships, allowing UWS to bring education to more children in remote areas worldwide.
Jack has also previously been a teacher, having trained through the TeachFirst programme and spent two years teaching Citizenship and Geography in an inner-city London Academy.
Jack is passionate about education and the life-changing difference it makes. He said upon accepting the role, ‘I am really looking forward to joining Emanuel School, with its great history of philanthropy and reputation for being inclusive and welcoming. I look forward to supporting the headmaster in developing the facilities at the school and widening access so that even more pupils can benefit from the world class education Emanuel offers’.
Headmaster, Robert Milne commented, ‘We are all very much looking forward to working with Jack. His experience, sense of integrity and evident ambition for the school make him exactly the right person to lead our future development campaigns. In the summer term 2019, we will launch our Battersea Rise Trust. The Battersea Rise Trust will focus on three core aims: to grow our bursaries and sponsorship capacity allowing more pupils of all backgrounds to attend; to financially support our ambitious estate plans for the improvement of educational facilities; and to widen access and enhance social mobility through education in south west London. I look forward to saying more about this exciting initiative next term and I hope that all members of our school community past and present, will support it.’
Jack would love to hear from you about any suggestions you may have for fundraising initiatives or ways in which you can help. If you are interested in talking to him or would like to know more about our development plans then please do email him at Jack.Clark@emanuel.org.uk.
