In previous school years we have run very successful Lit Quiz Clubs which involve pupils from Years 6, 7 and 8. We enter major external competitions such as the Kids’ Lit Quiz and the CWIZZ, as well as running our own internal house quizzes and big Lower School form event.
However, Covid-19 has altered the usual way we do things and for the time being, we now run separate Year 6, 7 and 8 quizzes which rotate on a weekly basis. The Hill form attendance has been massive and Year 7 (pictured) is on the increase, while Year 8 has brought in plenty of keen pupils. The quizzes are a lot of fun and are played with buzzers and everybody has a great time; there’s a great atmosphere and nothing is taken too seriously.
The questions are all book related, taking in subjects including mythology, comics, cartoons and pop culture, with the librarian quiz master making the most of the opportunity to recommend lots of good books along the way. We have been running quizzes for over a decade and have a bank of, quite literally, thousands of questions!
