Emanuel’s Media Coordinator Mr Skinner was crowned the winner of the DepicT! award for his micro-short film Fabulous at an online event held on Saturday 3rd October.
Fabulous was selected from over 1360 entries from 80 different countries. DepicT! is part of the prestigious Encounters Film Festival which is world renowned and both a BAFTA and Oscars qualifying festival. The festival is normally held at The Watershed, Bristol, however this year the festival was online from 18th September to 11th October.
The prestigious jury was comprised of experts from Channel 4, BFI, Aardman, NFTA, The Royal Photographic Society and Shooting People. They described the film as “a wonderful, cheeky and inventive piece of work that fits perfectly in the 90 second format.”
Mr Skinner is currently preparing for the upcoming Film in a Week project with 16 pupils from Year 10 (during the half term break) and he hopes the films they make will also be able to achieve similar success in competitions and film festivals!
