We’re in! The D&T department has moved out of the Exeter building and is now installed on the ground floor of the Dacre building, creating an arts hub at the rear of the school. The two new multifunctional and multi-discipline workshops are working well and the technicians’ space has proven to be well placed and resourced to supply the classes with materials and consumables.

A big thank you to the Arkwright scholars. Their success has enabled the department to buy a new resin printer which has already been used for some A level projects.

With science and maths moving into the new STEM and refectory building once completed, the vacated spaces in the main building will be repurposed to provide additional dedicated teaching space for all departments. You can find out more about our Giant Strides campaign, which will create inspiring spaces for teaching and learning as well as making more funded places available in the years ahead here.

On Wednesdays after school, D&T welcomes the Eco committee led by Ms Armstrong and the new and popular jewellery making club led by Ms Meyershon. The other nights are full of GCSE and A level students working on their major projects. In fact, this time of year is the busiest for D&T.
