Three new hard courts for netball and tennis have recently been completed at our off site sports ground at Raynes Park. They will be used for our games programme, friendly fixtures and lower school LTA tournament preparation to enhance participation and performance.

Three hybrid cricket pitches have also been laid in readiness for the summer term. These are more durable and allow for faster grass recovery time. They mean that boys and girls of all ages and abilities can play cricket at our off site grounds during the summer, a real benefit in terms of participation and team spirit.

“The Sports department is really pleased with the development of the off site facility. It provides us with an impressive space to host local opposition in hockey, rugby, netball, football, cricket and tennis. There is a noticeable buzz on a Saturday with more pupils competing at our home ground and more parents coming to watch our school sport.”

Ms Smith, Director of Sport

These facilities complement the new all weather pitch, opened last September. The pitch allows us to offer a broader range of co-educational sport with provision for hockey, netball, tennis, and football. The new facility gives us a home venue for girls’ hockey and has allowed us to grow our hockey programme by facilitating training in the autumn term. During the summer term, cricket takes place on the multi-use surface supporting all abilities.

With a greater number of spectators and increased use of the space, the next stage is to improve the pavilion. It will be a fantastic area for spectators and pupils to enjoy refreshments and a shared sense of community around sport.

At times when they are not being used by the school, the hard courts and all weather pitch are available for hire. Please contact our Lettings Manager, Laura Bradley, to make enquiries.

We are incredibly grateful to the parents and supporters who have invested in the future of sport at Emanuel. If you would like to find out more about supporting the school, please contact Anna Van Es, Development Director.
