Omeara, a short walk from London Bridge and Borough Market, is the brainchild of Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett.
Having only opened in 2016, it has already attracted the likes of The Pretenders, The Maccabees, Biffy Clyro and, of course, Mumford & Sons. Excitingly, it was the venue for the Music Department’s latest external Rock and Pop gig last Sunday. The venue provided us with our very own lighting engineer and sound engineer to ensure a brilliant show, and the venue was packed with pupils, parents and friends all coming to support the three rock bands and soloists.
They enjoyed an eclectic range of music from Adele’s ‘Rolling in the deep’ to ‘Melancholy Blues’ by Queen. Livi Liu performed one of her own songs ‘Sugar Rush’ and our Senior Strings provided luscious accompaniment to Leili Shirvani singing ‘Yesterday’ by the Beatles and Livi Liu singing ‘Impossible’ by Nothing but Thieves.
