As part of our innovative Primary Ambitions programme, there have been four filmmaking modules this academic year.

Pupils from Shaftesbury Park, John Burns, West Hill and St Anne’s CofE schools all enjoyed participating in this module, with support from a team of Emanuel Sixth Form students. The children worked in small teams to film news bulletins in the Emanuel film studio; to shoot fun movie trailers and to make fun superhero films.

One of the highlights was using the wind machine and green screen in the film studio to film shots of the superheroes flying through the sky! We have been so impressed by all the pupils’ creativity and teamwork and some of their storylines would be good enough for Marvel or DC! One of the great outcomes of Primary Ambitions Filmmaking this year, was that one of the Year 6 groups (from John Burns Primary) have now become involved  with a short film project that Mr Skinner (our Media Coordinator) is volunteering on with local charity the Be Kind Movement.
