Primary Ambitions, our Lower Sixth run enrichment programme for our partner primary schools is in full flow. We have facilitated two of the four modules and all participants – partner primary school pupils and staff,  Emanuel Lower Sixth pupils and Primary Ambitions Emanuel School staff mentors – have relished the experience so far and are looking forward to the second half of the programme.

Goldfinch Primary, a long-standing Primary Ambitions partner, participated in the Multisports module over the past five weeks. Urooj Ahmeed, a Goldfinch teacher, shared the school’s experience of the programme with us.

‘The multi sports module was a huge success! The 15 children from Goldfinch thoroughly enjoyed the module, thrived on the interaction from the sixth formers and built a small community within that time. The sessions were positive and powerful, where children were challenged with small activities that built on their skills and progressed as the session went on. Children were then able to showcase the skills learnt in competitive team games run and umpired by the sixth formers.

Emanuel school children fostered great team spirit, promoted positive thinking and encouraged teamwork that resulted in all the children walking away with new skills not only related to sports. They also left feeling confident that they could achieve anything if they put their mind to it.

Thank you to Emanuel School for hosting Goldfinch in this successful module!’

We will be welcoming 15 partner primary schools – 285 pupils – including Goldfinch, on site for the start of Module 3 this Friday. We can’t wait.
