This week our new Year 9 Book Club met for the first time to discuss their first book.
The Cousins is written by Karen M.McManus – a popular writer amongst our pupils at Emanuel and also the author of the famous One Of Us is Lying. Though it proved to be an interesting read, rife with plot twists and an unexpected ending, our group of incredibly capable readers felt it didn’t quite reach up to the level of previous books written by McManus.
Challenge accepted! The next book on our list is The Last by Hanna Jameson, a challenging dystopian thriller. If you’re a Year 9 pupil and this sounds like your cup of tea, email Miss McCloud and get involved! The next meeting is on the 10th February. Happy reading!
