Scratch coding club is very popular amongst pupils in Year 6 and Year 7.
The club runs every week and pupils work as individuals or in groups to create a wide variety of games and animations using Scratch. The club is pupil-led, so they work on their own projects at their own pace. Scratch projects develop creativity as well as problem solving and mathematical skills.
Scratch is web-based and is hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which allows pupils to continue their work at home if they wish. The platform allows users to add several sprites to a stage, code blocks are used to allow sprites to interact with other sprites. You can view their projects on the Scratch Studio here.
