Last week, Mr Hanson set pupils the challenge of running 2km, 3km or 5km and recording their results.
Tom Gillions (Year 6) went one step further and additionally got involved in the 2.6 Challenge, which aims to help charities that are struggling currently – with many fundraising events (possibly the largest being the 2020 London Marathon) cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Tom set out to see how far he could run in 26 minutes and managed a fantastic 5.6km, with sponsored donations going to the Stroke Association. At the time of writing (1st May), Tom has raised £371 – well over his £150 target! He’s continuing to collect donations here.
