Emanuel School’s Upper Sixth EPQ Results for 2025 just came through following the moderation process.
We are pleased to say the grade boundaries were as expected, so UCAS application grades are accurate – no surprises. The table below includes previous years, for context and graphs that visualise the proportion or results and trends year on year. As you can see, 49% of grades this year are A*s.
Last year 40% of the cohort achieved an A*, and in 2023 32% of the cohort got an A*. Our A* – A also went up from 68% to 81%, with 100% of projects being A* – B, the first year this has happened at Emanuel.
There were slightly fewer entries this year, which reflected a smaller EPQ cohort who started the qualification (more Further Mathematicians/students taking four A Levels).
Moderation feedback was strong – a testament to supervisor support, marking, and standardisation processes.
A few highlights:
- “Students researched a huge range of resources, beyond that which would be expected for a Level 3 Extended Project.”
- “Discussion sections were interesting to read and structured well. The highest marked pieces showed an excellent attempt at presenting arguments for a topic, which were then carefully explored and countered – there was high quality work seen.”
- “It is clear the centre is preparing its students well.”
