On Tuesday 5 October, Art staff took the Year 11 Art GCSE students on the first Emanuel art trip since the beginning of the pandemic.

We visited Tate Britain to enable Year 11s to gain experience of gathering drawings and annotation in preparation for GCSE art mock exam. While there we visited the early British painting display looking at composition and patterns in the more formal portraits before moving onto the Henry Moore displays and more contemporary 21st century work.

Visiting a gallery for the first time as a cohort was a rewarding experience for us all and helped to give us some semblance of normality despite Covid 19. Our Year 11 students worked hard during the visit and while there made successful sketchbook pages.
