This year, we launched our new fundraising initiative, 43 for the BRT.
We asked pupils, parents, OEs and staff to get involved by completing 43 of an activity to raise money for the Battersea Rise Trust. It’s been fantastic to see so many people taking part. Here are just some of the ways supporters have got involved:
- Miss Mott will be drawing 43 portraits (you can ask Miss Mott to draw you one by visiting her fundraising page here)
- Year 9 pupil José has smashed his 43km running target and his fundraising goal by running 57k so far
- Tom, Elana and Katie in Year 6 are doing 43 bakes and running 43km
- Parent Juliet Barclay is performing 43 Shakespeare sonnets in unusual places, from supermarket aisles to evil-smelling mud pools
- Hector (Upper Sixth) and Lily and Izzy (Year 10) are running 43km
- Gracie (Year 7) completed a 43km cycle on her Peloton bike in one go
- Oliver (Year 7) completed a 43km cycle ride around Richmond Park on one of the coldest days of the year
- Josie (Year 7) is well on her way to dancing for 43 hours
- Dr Nicheallaigh has run 43km
- Eliza (Year 8) and her Mum will be completing 43 ice swims at Tooting Bec Lido
- Danial (Year 6) is completing 43 bakes
Many others are starting on their challenges and we look forward to bringing news of them in future newsletters.
43 for the BRT aims to raise £43,000 in order to enable two more children to benefit from a transformative free place at Emanuel. We want to celebrate Emanuel’s 430th birthday in 2024 by welcoming 43 children to Emanuel on a completely free place.
So far, we have raised over £12,000 and are 30% of our way towards our fundraising target of £43,000. Please help us to get there either by visiting our JustGiving page and getting involved in a fundraising challenge or supporting those in the Emanuel community who are already doing so. You can find out more about the Battersea Rise Trust here.
Let us know about your chosen challenge so we can share it on social media and help to inspire others. Alternatively, you can share it on social media using #43fortheBRT.
The challenge is open to all pupils, staff, parents and Old Emanuels. We would really like as many people to take part in this challenge as possible. If we can come together as a whole community, we are certain we can reach our ambitious target of funding two places at Emanuel.
We’re doing 43 for the BRT. Are you?
