Last Friday Lila (Year 6) and Taran (Year 7) both played for the school chess team and won matches in our fixture against Hampton School.
It is incredibly rare for Year 6 and 7 pupils to play in a full school match, in over twenty years of running chess Emanuel there have only been two or three. Lila becomes only the second ever girl to play for the chess team and probably the youngest ever. Both pupils beat Hampton players with at least a four year age advantage.
