On Tuesday 29th November, the Year 13 Psychologists attended Friends House for the Science and Psychology Conference. The event was aimed at developing the students’ understanding of the research methods component of the course, which is worth approximately 25% of the A level.

It was an incredibly exciting and interactive event, with the students getting actively involved in numerous live experiments throughout the day. They explored the psychology behind magic tricks, causes of visual illusions, the impact of dancing on convergent and divergent thinking, and ending with a live hypnosis demo in which two of our students were invited to participate on stage (much to the enjoyment of the rest of the students).

It was an excellent event which really engaged the students and helped develop their understanding of the scientific method.
