Record A Level outcomes for the 2019 leavers

Congratulations to the Emanuel Upper Sixth of 2019. Their tremendous efforts have gained them excellent results. We are delighted that they have been able to achieve places at their chosen universities, prestigious courses in the performing and creative arts or within their chosen careers.

  • Overall they gained 48.5% A*/A grades.
  • This is an impressive improvement of 14.8% upon last year’s results in the very highest grades.
  • They have also achieved the highest ever proportion of A*/B grades at Emanuel, of 82.5%.
  • 15.1% of all grades achieved were at A*, significantly above last year’s national average of 8%.
  • Of all exams taken (A levels and Extended Project Qualification), 50% were A*/A grades.
  • One pupil achieved 4A*; five further pupils achieved 3A*, and six achieved 2A* and an A. In total, 25 pupils achieved all A/A* grades – 23% of the year group.

Sinan and Nancy (Head Boy and Girl) achieved incredible results and will read Economics & Politics, and Natural Sciences, respectively at Durham.

Additionally, this is the second year group at Emanuel to have been offered the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Taken by 70% of the year group, over 55% achieved A* and A grades (many of whom also received preferential UCAS offers for Russell Group universities as a result). This has proved an academic success and has successfully developed their research skills and scholarly expertise in wide-ranging fields of study.

As a community, we are immensely proud of the achievements of this committed group of young men and women in so many different areas of school life. These results reward their hard work and aspirational approach to academic study. We wish them the very best in the exciting futures which lie ahead. We would also like to thank all of the teachers and tutors for their dedication and expertise in supporting, inspiring and guiding the pupils to these wonderful outcomes.
