On Wednesday 26th February, Ibs Laughton (OE 2019) came in to talk to our Lower and Upper Sixth Art students about her experience of the Art Foundation.

Ibs is currently attending an art foundation course at Kingston University and is going on to study Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford in the autumn. She was very enthusiastic about the course and explained the application process, giving lots of tips about how to build a portfolio and talk at interview.  She discussed how students have the opportunity to explore techniques and processes in more specialist areas including Visual Communication, Fine Art, 3D and Fashion and, in doing this, enabling students to make informed decisions about the area in which they wish to specialise during Foundation and before to applying to degree courses.

She was clearly buzzing with excitement about experimenting with materials, working on collaborative projects and meeting like minded people. Our Sixth Form were very inspired by her talk as were Art department staff. My thanks to Ibs for her fascinating and insightful talk.
