On 7th December, 30 A Level biology students attended the ‘Biology in Action’ lecture series in Westminster.
Students had the opportunity to engage with 6 different lectures, which were given by research scientists and university professors. The lectures covered a wide range of topics, including the science of ageing, the link between anosmia (loss of sense of smell) and Covid-19, life at the bottom of the Mariana Trench (the deepest of the location on Earth) and how scientists have used Everest to help in the treatment of patients with hypoxia (low oxygen levels in the blood) by Greg Foot the BBC presenter.
The interesting topics covered in the lectures were enjoyed by all pupils.
