Before the Christmas holidays we ran a new and gently-used book drive for our partner primary schools.
We delivered hundreds of books to six of our partner schools at the end of term and have delivered hundreds more to 11 schools this week. Our partner schools have distributed the books to children who have few books of their own at home with the aim of keeping the love of reading alive during the current lockdown.
Our partner primary schools were delighted to receive such a fantastic array of books. Emilie Haston, Headteacher of Goldfinch Primary, wrote to thank everyone who donated books. ‘They are great! Our English leader was beside herself. We are going to get them out to families who are learning remotely. We really appreciate it!’
Thank you all for sorting through your bookshelves and carting, collectively, hundreds of books to school. There were some impressively full bags!
