We celebrated Chinese New Year at lunch last week with a wonderful array of tasty Chinese dishes.

 There was a delicious Chinese curry soup to start followed by tender beef in oyster sauce, Szechuan chicken and sweet chilli mushrooms. To accompany the main courses we served egg fried rice, stir fried vegetables and prawn crackers. For dessert there was a choice of Chinese egg custard tart or berry and vanilla tart with fresh cream and a selection of fresh fruits. The beautiful red and gold Chinese decorations really added to the atmosphere which everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy.

We are planning a delicious chocolatey dessert for Valentine’s Day next week as a highlight just before half term.
