We are so proud of Eva (Year 9) for joining the National Youth Music Theatre!

She reports: “auditions were held around the country and my first round audition was a full day workshop in Paddington. I had to sing a song of my choice, take part in a dance class and worked on some improvisation with the director. I met some great people and had a brilliant day. I then had a nerve wracking 3 weeks to wait until I found out I had a recall. I was lucky enough to be recalled for two of the main shows in the season Kiss Me Kate and The Boy Who Sailed The Ocean In An Armchair. I was sent scripts and music to learn in advance of the recall so spent my half term learning it all! The recall seemed to go well even though the dance was very hard….
After another week of anxious waiting, I found out I had been cast as Mimi in The Boy Who Sailed The Ocean In An Armchair by Jordan Li-Smith based on the book by Lara Williamson and directed by west end director Hannah Chissick. I am absolutely thrilled as this will be the world premiere of the show and we will be performing at the thousand-seater Leicester Curve theatre in August.  I am beyond excited for the Easter when the first week of rehearsals start!”
