Our annual Friday night lights hockey fixture against Ibstock place school was played on Friday 7th March. Hosted at our Blagdons site for the first time, both teams were treated to an experience featuring music, team walkouts and even some flares. Cheered on by a large crowd of parents, pupils and OEs the two teams played out a highly entertaining and tightly contested game under the lights. Emanuel went ahead with the first goal but were pegged back by Ibstock early in the second half. A goal from one of our vice captains Evie followed to push Emanuel back into the lead and with Ibstock chasing an equaliser, Emanuel were able to steal the ball and score a third to secure a 3-1 win. Both teams played some great hockey and were wonderful ambassadors for their respective schools. Watch the Reel here.

“For the U6 girls, this was our last ever hockey match and we couldn’t have imagined a better send off! The coaches made such an effort; kitting out the changing rooms with personalised signs and blasting the teams’ favourite song as we walked out. The atmosphere was incredible, fuelling our 3-1 win, which was a very satisfying end to hockey at Emanuel! “
