Following on from five A finals and a win at the National School’s Regatta, Emanuel rowers have outdone themselves and qualified for Henley Royal Regatta. Emanuel rowing continues to gain momentum with the boys and girls thriving and Emanuel saw, jointly the most girls, competing at National Schools out of any Co-Ed School.

The boys raced in the Heat of the Princess Elizabeth Challenge cup at Henley on Tuesday, against Reading Blue Coat School and put in a great performance against a very strong rowing school.

After a tremendous showing at Henley Women’s Regatta, the girls first eight were the closest they’ve ever been to qualifying and the second fastest non qualifiers in their event. Our boys beat the likes of some very strong names in rowing, to qualify: St Georges Weybridge, Nottingham County Rowing Club, Bryanson School and Salisbury, a club from the USA. Our girls were superb with their race and were agonisingly close. We are extremely proud of their achievement representing Emanuel at this world-renowned regatta.

460 Crews from 17 Nations compete and Emanuel was represented at this prestigious event.

A special thank you to Alumni and Steward Luke Dillon who awarded the boys their blazers on the floating grandstand on Saturday. And of course, the parents and coaches who came out to watch the event.

This is the first time for the best part of a decade, that the boys have been racing at this event.
