It has been a busy start to 2019 for current Year 11 student and up and coming 1st XV rugby player, Charlie Sinclair. Not only has he been juggling his day-to-day school life and co-curricular commitments, he has been involved with not only one, but two international player pathways.

Charlie has been identified by both the Welsh Rugby Union and the Scottish Rugby Union as a player with huge potential moving forward. Over the past few weeks he has attended training camps and represented both Exile Pathways in competitive fixtures, most recently a residential camp at Moulton College in Northampton with the Scottish Rugby Union during the Easter break.

The Welsh and Scottish Exiles are intended to provide a pathway into international and professional rugby for those players who qualify through family or historical links but are living outside of the country. Charlie is, however, under no pressure to decide his allegiance to either country just yet; that decision doesn’t need to be made until he makes his full international debut in the hopefully not so distant future.

All of us here at Emanuel are tremendously proud of Charlie’s rugby achievements to date and we look forward to supporting him on his journey over the next two years.

Mr Gaynor (Director of Rugby)
