In the most recent meeting of the Junior Equality Society (Year 8), members welcomed new Deputy Head, Mr Turner.
Mr Turner described some of the equality priorities he has identified, and some of the things he’s been involved in including the Schools Inclusion Alliance.
The JES in turn explained what their club does and some of the topics they have been discussing over the past three years since they founded the club in Year 6! These include the Equality Act; body positivity; Islamophobia, monarchy; feminism for men, Meghan Markle, Black Lives Matters and local SW11 black heroes such as John Archer and Mary Secole among many others.
